Resort description:The ski resort of Sölden comprises two glaciers, 39 lifts and 146 kilometres of pistes. The main part of the ski resort is located on a sea level of 200 m and reaches 3000 m on three peaks (the big three). The highest peak you can reach by ski lift is 3269 m, ensuring rather good snow all season, with Obergurgl being a short distance away.
Sölden is certainly one of the top 5 international ski resorts in Austria. The town itself stretches for more than 2km along the valley floor with traditional Tyrolean-style buildings situated on both sides of the river and along the main road. It is a vibrant resort with a great atmosphere. With more runs than Chamonix and Kitzbühel, Sölden has a lot to offer. There are countless restaurants, bars and shops along the main street in Solden and a sports centre with indoor adventure pool, public sauna, indoor tennis courts and bowling. Sölden is the only winter sports resort worldwide that runs an International Test Centre with all of the most important manufacturers based here.
