Resort description:Overlooking the Rhone Valley, Villars is a charming, sunny resort offering spectacular views, with Mont Blanc clearly visible.It offers a good selection of bars, cafes,restaurants and shops, plus excellent activities for the non skier. A railway runs from Villars centre to the ski area, which is linked to Les Diablerets an unspoilt village amid spectacular scenery. The ski area covers 225km of pistes, better suited to beginner and intermediate skiers or boarders.There is a nursery area in each village for complete beginners but most will want to tackle the the extensive area of Bretaye.From here you will find a network of runs fanning out on either side of the valley.Runs reach down to La Rassses, an area which links Villars and Gryon ski areas.From here you can access the Chaux Ronde summit at 2020m which offers a long cruising run down to Gryon.Access to the Diablerets glacier is posssible from Bretaye via Tete de Meilleret and the cable car from the village of Les Diablerets.Snowboarders are well catered for too with several snow parks around and well groomed pistes.Both resorts are considered as "family friendly" and are well recommended for families of all abilities.

Villars, Gryon and Les Diablerets has three interconnected ski areas:
Barboleusaz 'Les Chaux' skiing is accessed using the 4 person Barboleusaz ski telecabine. The large sunny ski plateau at Les Chaux is an excellent area for novice skiers and young children. It has access to skiing of all standards.
Villars 'Bretaye' skiing is accessed using the mountain ski train or the 8 person Villars ski telecabine. If you are staying near Barboleusaz you can use your ski pass on the mountain ski train to access the Bretaye skiing.
Les Diablerets 'Isenau' and 'Glacier 3000' skiing is accessed on snow from Villars or Barboleusaz by first going to Bretaye then Chaux Ronde then Meilleret.
